In the Media

Released - 20 May 2008

Watch SAOA ambassador Chris Eksteen promote Optometry on the SABC 3 television show 3 Talk.

The show will air on the 20th of May 2008 at 17h45.

Transitions Optical, one of the proud sponsors of Vision 2008, will be sponsoring the 3 Talk show, with Noeleen Maholwana Sangqu.   The 45-minute show will focus on relaxing mind, body, eyes and soul, and will emphasize how exercise, nutrition, a balanced lifestyle and basic eye care can help reduce stress and fatigue. Transitions Optical will be dedicating a segment of the show to the importance of regular eye examinations at an optometrist and how this can help reduce eye fatigue and improve overall wellness and wellbeing.

Richard Pearson, Country Manager - Transitions Optical SA, explains: "Eye fatigue, although it doesn't cause permanent damage to the eyes, is a very real issue and many people don't realise their symptoms could be caused by not wearing corrective spectacle lenses or from not having regular eye examinations."

Transitions Optical hopes that the 3 Talk show will help make viewers more aware of basic eye care, and encourage more of them to visit an optometrist on a regular basis. "By educating the consumer on the benefits and the basic elements of eye care we hope to get more people visiting optometrists in the upcoming winter months," adds Richard Pearson.
